Blog # 5 Baroque Style

What can I say about the era of Baroque? They say this era shows breathtaking, amusing, amazing, beautiful arts. I might say, this is.. Baroque. When you hear it, you'll know it.

It is a period of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in sculpture, painting, literature, dance, and music. Yes, the 5 characteristics of Baroque that says it all; Motion, Drama, Tension, Details, and Grandeur.

Baroque style featured "exaggerated lighting, intense emotions, release from restraint, and even a kind of artistic sensationalism". Baroque art did not really depict the life style of the people at that time; however, "closely tied to the Counter-Reformation, this style melodramatically reaffirmed the emotional depths of the Catholic faith and glorified both church and monarchy" of their power and influence.

"Groups of figures assumed new importance and there was a dynamic movement and energy of human forms— they spiraled around an empty central vortex, or reached outwards into the surrounding space. For the first time, Baroque sculpture often had multiple ideal viewing angles." - based on my research from mom's book

I may not be considered as a traditional artist, but this art really inspires me to work as is.

I don't really get the way how they do the arts in a really amusing perfect manner. I don't know how the word "perfect" would be applicable to these kind of arts, because art is not really a range of 1-100 score, it's about how you express them in front of you through the use of a medium, the human mind is unconditional, it may show extraordinary and supernatural. And considering how artists works in this era, I think this is my best pick to learn from. 

Blog #4 Renaissance

Wow. The Era of Renaissance, where arts are reconstructed, rebirth, re-flourished, redefined? It simply say and describe the artworks in this era. Going back to Christian Art, with unlikely and unfortunate scenarios and situations that people here in this era suffers. Classicism and Christian Arts is interconnected. 

In this era, artworks depicted biblical verses that portrays biblical meaning and own way of illustrating them. Architecture is also defined here, where Order in columns were used for establishments. Flourishes are created, and was made for inspiration. 

I say in this era, artists have the rights of expressing themselves through their work of art. The right of freedom on creating creativity, through their creative minds. It was so flexible and epidemic, it provided a much complex artistry that started a new way of art eras that boomify the artists.

Blog # 2 Classic Arts

Hmmm.. Classical Art, the era when they consider most in the inside details about Gods and Goddesses. What kind of style does classical art portray? Well, it focuses on realism. Their artworks are classic that my interest on their works never wears off. It has good impression from the ancient arts. Does not have any artsy fartsy, but it looks really classy, formal and proportional to the eye. It is unique. They express themselves from their culture. Most of the artists there are considered as legends, and an inspiration from time to time.

Classical Art portray a very munch of standard simplicity and elegance.

Well, did you know, falling between the Baroque and the Romantic periods, the Classical period ran from 1750 to 1825. The Classical period was a cultural high time for the arts. In terms of music, famous composer from this period include Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.

Art is a good way to see differences between periods of history.  If one period of art or music is controlled and orderly, the next period will have less control and more emotions. 

The extreme emotions found in one period of history will usually lead to a more controlled and orderly approach in the next period.  This pattern has repeated itself throughout history.      

Blog # 1 Arts of the Ancients

I do admire the Arts of the Ancients, because without them, Art won't be living in our time. Arts in the Ancients is not only an art but, it is also the fact that they have started the civilization through works of an individual and broaden the life with creativity. To prove that, they have their artistic sides with the use of minimal technology, rather.. no Technology at all. Their impressive works also served as a documentation.

Due to the highly religious nature of ancient Egyptian civilization, many of the great works of ancient Egypt depict gods, goddesses, and Pharaohs, who were also considered divine. Ancient Egyptian art is characterized by the idea of order. Clear and simple lines combined with simple shapes and flat areas of color helped to create a sense of order and balance in the art of ancient Egypt.
